Malta food and drink

Updated: Mar 24

Food in Malta is fabulous and can range from simple pastizzi shops to Michelin star restaurants. Here’s a few of my favorites below.

  • Valletta -Legligin. A tiny small local Maltese traditional restaurant that serves Maltese meze and local wine. The food just keeps on coming in this little place. Legligin

  • St Julian’s. Caviar and bull. - An up market restaurant that’s got a stunning view over St George’s bay and has the best salt based fish and lobster popcorn followed with delicious desserts Caviar and Bull

  • Michelin star doesn't come better than this restaurant, Under Grain in Valletta. It’s part of a hotel that has a fantastic roof to bar too. Under Grain

  • Ta Xbiex. Water polo club restaurant. A stunning restaurant on the water with a view of the harbour and Valletta. Seafood is a must here Water polo club Ta Biex

  • Sliema, Frescos. Another sea view place, this restaurant is a classic, lots to choose from and a lovely setting. Frescos

  • La Vida- A tiny tapas bar that has a huge punch with its dishes and fantastic menu options and an amazing mix of dishes and flavors. This was a regular place of mine when we lived in Malta. They have a very good Gin selection too La Vida
