Thailand is the land of smiles, from crazy Bangkok to the chilled out vibes of the beaches, Thailand has something for everyone. Having spent a lot of my time travelling in this diverse country it's great to be able to share some of the best places to go.
Here's my top 10 places to visit in Thailand.
1. Koh Samui
My very first island, stunning beaches and a chilled vibe with easy access to Koh Phangan (full moon parties) and Koh Tao for diving.
2. Bangkok
Crazy, crazy, crazy, Bangkok has got it all, cool hotels, palaces, history, great shops and a great range of food from street food to Michelin star.
3. Koh Lipe
A smaller lesser known charming island that can be easily reached from Malaysia. Stunning beaches and a very chilled vibe with no cars on the island, it’s quiet and everything is in walking distance.
4. Chiang Mai
In this northern town you will find food markets, adventure and of course the chance to see and visit elephant sanctuaries.
5. Krabi
Pristine beaches, limestone rocks and clear water makes Krabi a feast for the eyes and the camera lens.
6. Phi phi leh
It goes without saying any trip to Thailand must include the famous Phi Phi and Phi Phi Leh “The Beach” ,Thanks Leonardo.
7. Kanachaburi
Stunning river views, waterfalls and of course the famous bridge over the river Kwai. Bonus only a few hours from Bangkok.
8. Chiang Rai
Sitting near Laos and Burma, Chiang Rai boasts a different feel with waterfalls, hiking trails and the famous white temple.
9. Koh lanta
A quieter island which attracts more families and its known for its multiple long beaches, calm waters, diving and sunsets.
10. Mae pim
On the mainland 3 hours south of Bangkok. This is more a Thai beach where the locals go, making it very welcoming, chilled and once again a place with stunning beaches and coastline. You won’t see your usual tourists here. Perfect weekend getaway from Bangkok
There really is something for everyone in Thailand.
